Managed futures, much like the anticipation of summer following spring, offer a strategic pathway to financial growth and reward. This investment approach involves professional management of futures contracts, allowing investors to potentially capitalize on market trends and volatility. As spring’s blossoms herald the abundant days of summer, managed futures aim to transform strategic insights into substantial returns. Embracing this method means trusting in expert foresight and diligent planning to navigate the financial markets, much like a seasoned gardener preparing for a bountiful summer harvest. This month in the Comhla Connection we dig down into the who's who and what's what of the Managed Futures world.

Keeping it in the Family...
The Market Makers Meeting is a remarkable event that goes beyond the realms of finance and trading. It's a gathering that celebrates the bonds of friendship and family, bringing people together in a unique and dynamic environment. The presence of friends and family at these professional events is truly enriching. It transforms what could be a strictly business-oriented occasion into a warm, inclusive, and multifaceted experience.
Friends and family add a layer of comfort and support that can be crucial in high-stress environments like trading. Their presence can provide a sense of balance, reminding us of the importance of human connections amid the hustle and bustle of market activities. It’s a time when the stress of trades and strategies can be momentarily set aside to enjoy the company of loved ones, share meals, and create lasting memories. This blending of professional and personal spheres helps foster a sense of community and belonging that is often rare in the fast-paced world of finance.
Having friends and family around can inspire and motivate. It’s invigorating to showcase our work and achievements to those who matter most to us. The presence of friends and family at the Market Makers Meeting enriches the event, making it more than just a convergence of traders and investors. It becomes a celebration of the relationships that empower us, a reminder of the personal networks that bolster our professional lives. Billion Dollars in the Managed Futures Market
The growth of money flowing into managed futures over the past several decades has been truly spectacular. Managed futures had less than $10 million in Assets Under Management (AUM) in 1980. In 2023 however, AUM reached $357 billion.
Trading futures involves significant risk of loss and is not suitable for everyone. Past performance is not necessarily indicative of future results.
The risk of loss associated with trading commodity futures contracts (commodities and futures) is substantial. Therefore, you need to carefully consider whether trading in the commodity futures markets is appropriate for you in light of your personal circumstances, risk tolerance, and overall financial situation. Trading in the futures markets is highly leveraged and brings with it large potential risks even though it can bring you potential rewards. You need to fully understand the risks associated with this type of trading and derivative product and you need to ensure you ask questions about these risks. Once a decision has been made to invest after you have asked all your questions and have full knowledge of all the risks, you need to be willing and able to accept the risks in order to invest in the futures or commodities markets. If you lose your entire investment and are asked to put up more money to cover debits in your account and this will impact your personal life in financial terms, you should not be trading with money you cannot afford to lose. This communication is not solicitation or an offer to buy or sell commodity, futures or any other financial interests. You may be told that putting orders in with certain risk measures such as stop-loss or stop-limits orders will protect you. Please note that the use of any stop-loss or stop-limit orders may not limit your losses and you could lose more than your intended amount of money at risk. No representation is being made that any account will or is likely to achieve profits or losses similar to any discussed here. Past Performance of any trading or methodology is not necessarily indicative of future results. Like any investment, you should consult your broker or financial adviser before deciding to invest and when placing any trades.
